The Clayton Municipal Court is located in the Court Room at the Clayton Municipal Complex. Access is through the Police Department main entrance. Court is held twice a month, it starts at 5:00 pm. The Municipal Court handles various types of misdemeanor cases including traffic violations, misdemeanor criminal cases and ordinance violations.

Certain citations can be paid before your court date. Payments can be made by mail, in person, or online. Payments can be made by money order, personal check, certified check, cash or credit card in person, or online at www.ezcourtpay.com.
PAY BY MAIL: Send a check or money order, payable to the City of Clayton. Please reference your citation number on your form of payment.

PAY IN PERSON: Payments are accepted at the Clerk's Office, located at 837 Highway 76 West, Suite 125, Clayton, GA 30525. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm, closed holidays. Payment can be accepted by cash, money order, check, or credit card. A processing fee applies to all credit card payments. The amount of the processing fee is determined by the amount of the transaction. We only accept MasterCard or VISA for credit card transactions
PAY ONLINE: To pay your citation by CREDIT or DEBIT CARD you may go online at www.ezcourtpay.com or call toll-free 1-800-262-0128. Please use the toll-free number when calling to determine your fine amount. Please wait at least 7 to 10 business days after your citation was issued to receive the fine amount or attempting to pay.
If you would like to come into court and contest the citation you may do so on the arraignment date listed on the front of the citation, your first appearance is only the arraignment date, and you will be rescheduled to a later date for a trial.
If you are charged with a state misdemeanor violation, you have a right to a jury trial. If you want a trial by jury, your case will be transferred from the Clayton Municipal Court to the Rabun County Superior Court. If you request your case to be transferred you will need to be in contact with the Rabun County Superior Court Office for further court date and other information pertaining to your case.
